OUR THOUGHTS turn to those suffering as a result of wars, natural disasters and terminal illnesses as there seems to be so much of each around us, even though the hope which Spring offers, is imminent.
As we seek to show love to others while naturally caring for self, we count ourselves fortunate even as we are pushed to demonstrate our moral responsibility which ultimately strengthens our belief in ourselves and fellow man.
Recently I questioned the hardships we bestow upon each other and referenced one of the works of the 4th Century, The Cardinal Sins, or as it is known today, The Seven Deadly Sins. In examining each one on this ignoble list of human weaknesses, I found some more offensive than others. But the worst of them was Envy.

Toning up and slimming down these days is not just referred to as one’s figure but our wallets and lifestyle habits. With pockets getting emptier and emptier as we are going through a recession, this is the period where we lay low and spend some time thinking about what we want to do next our life. Time to reinvent or renewal of our life’s; like Spring, within nature’s resilience to the beauty that lies ahead.

Dear Readers,
Since the first issue, I’ve had the great pleasure to witness people get lost in the text and pictures of HK Magazine. “IT HAPPENS within the first minute of handing someone a copy of HK magazine. They are immediately lost in the text and the pictures.
That gives a publisher a sense of real pride!
Some others anxiously seek additional copies of daughter, son, spouse, friend, sister or co-worker.
That gives a publisher her greatest pleasure!”
